A "Kidspired" Idea

We are a Christian family, and are always talking and teaching the Word of God and its principles to our kids. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 11:18-19 So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine...Teach them to your Children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

During one discussion my 5 yr old Joshua and I were talking about how God made each of us with a unique purpose. We talked about how he has given us each our own special gifts, to fulfill his purpose for our life, so that Jesus may be glorified. We talked a little bit about what we thought each of our gifts was. He observed that he was good at drawing pictures. When I asked him how he could glorify God using that gift, he excitedly replied, "I can draw comic books for the kids who are in the hospital!" So the idea was born and he got right to making his comic strips. We havent delivered them yet because some of his brothers are a bit under the weather, but when all are well we will go and deliver these precious comic books to the children in the hospital, we will hopefully be able to share our faith in Jesus with them, and recieve permission to post thier prayer requests on this blog so that we can be continually in prayer for them.

In this day and age kids get often viewed as being unuseful especially when it comes to kingdom matters. I dont think we give our kids enough credit. They are little creations of God, and it is our job to pay attention to thier strengths and weaknesses and to channel those things rightly toward God. Jesus himself said let the little children come to me, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:14 So lets get a jumpstart and inspire our kids to take giant steps and see what it really means to live out this faith we are always teaching them about.
